My Therapeutic Approach

My approach is grounded in person-centred therapy, offering a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where you can explore both past and present experiences. I work collaboratively and creatively, supporting you to gain insight, build self-awareness, and develop your own solutions. I believe you are the expert in your own life, and I do not direct or impose outcomes within therapy.

Together, we work towards increasing self-understanding and empowerment, helping you to manage life’s challenges in a way that feels more balanced and fulfilling.

I place great importance on the therapeutic relationship and the trust built between therapist and client. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in line with their ethical framework. I value empathy, respect, and authenticity, and I am committed to supporting individuals in developing meaningful strategies that promote positive change and emotional wellbeing.
Getting started

What to Expect at the Start of Therapy?

If what you have read resonates with you, the next step is to contact me via email or via the contact form. We will then arrange a complimentary introductory consultation of approximately 15 minutes. This initial conversation provides an opportunity for you to share what has brought you to therapy and to outline any current concerns or goals.

During this discussion, we will also briefly cover the counselling contract, including confidentiality, session structure, timings, and cancellation arrangements. This allows us both to gain a clear understanding of how the therapy process works.

This initial meeting is a chance for us to ask questions and explore whether working together feels like the right fit. It is important that you feel comfortable, informed, and supported in your decision. If we both feel that therapy together would be beneficial, we can then arrange ongoing sessions, either online, by telephone, or face to face.

Should you choose to begin therapy, we may agree on an initial six-week block of sessions, with the option to review and extend this if it feels appropriate. Alternatively, sessions can remain open-ended, allowing you to attend as frequently or for as long as feels right for you.
