About me

I formally began my counselling training in 2007 at Cornwall College, where I completed a Level 2 Introduction to Counselling. Alongside my academic development, I worked closely with the transgender community through the NHS and The Laurels, as well as within my own private work. This experience enabled me to support individuals navigating significant life transitions and identity-related challenges, and it has had a lasting influence on my therapeutic approach.

I went on to complete a Level 4 Counselling Certificate, followed by a Level 5 Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling through Plymouth University, undertaken over two years. I later completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Therapeutic Counselling at Leeds Beckett University in 2023. In 2025, I completed a Master’s degree in Psychology, accredited by the British Psychological Society, which granted me Chartered Membership.
My practice is integrative, with specialist training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). This approach allows me to work collaboratively with clients to explore the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. I find that CBT complements the person-centred modality effectively, offering both structure and compassion within the therapeutic process.

In addition to my core training, I have completed specialist qualifications in Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD) and Autism (Level 2, Lincoln University). I have also undertaken further training in self-harm and suicide awareness through Strode College, as well as specialist training in domestic and sexual violence. During my professional development, I completed ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training), equipping me to provide immediate and supportive intervention for individuals experiencing suicidal ideation, both face-to-face and remotely.

I hold an up-to-date DBS certificate, am GDPR compliant, and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), working in accordance with their ethical framework. I am committed to offering a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental therapeutic environment, where individuals feel heard, supported, and empowered to explore their experiences at their own pace.
